After such a steep increase in prices in2014, it was only natural for prices to decrease for a short period of time for stabilization. As we enter 2016, it signals the end of decreasing property values and start of new opportunities. 2016 is the time to buy in Dubai.

After a short period of time where prices were decreasing, which most people in the industry acknowledged as a healthy price correction after a strong 2014, Dubai promises a rise and stabilization in property value as the World Expo 2020 nears. The real estate industry is no longer considered a new sector for Dubai and this is evident through the stabilization in prices which is a sign of a more mature market. When before, the Dubai real estate market was seen as a place where money could be made in the short term, serious investors now have an opportunity to create a more long term plan for investing their money in the Dubai realty market. While short term gains will be hard to come by, people who are investing their money in Dubai now can be assured that their money is secure and the economy has the capability to respond to external economic trends in a less drastic manner.

Dubai, as always, is continuing to further develop its infrastructure, especially now that the World Expo 2020 is only a short time away. The increased Government spending and the continual encouraging of foreign investment is expected to provide a strong backing for the real estate sector. As a result, Dubai has set a target of building 25,000 homes in 2016, providing a plethora of options for investors and end users alike.

Further to all the positives that are to come with 2016, more generally speaking, Dubai is a fantastic place to invest in. Since the inception of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in 2007, all transactions, brokers, agencies etc. are properly monitored and regulated. What this means for investors is that any money that is put into the Dubai real estate market is circulating in a completely secure environment. On top of this, Dubai offers tax free returns on investment while at the same time offering a much better price per square foot on average compared to other major cities such as New York, Hong Kong, London and Paris.

2016 promises to be a lucrative year for the Dubai real estate sector. All the signs point towards a much more mature and stable market where investors can plan safe, profitable and long term strategies.
