Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040
Dubai’s Urban Masterplan 2040 that focuses on superior quality of life and reinforcing Dubai as a global destination for citizens, residents and tourists alike.
The masterplan will categorize Dubai into 5 urban centers which would be identified as a different proposition for each zone and focus towards specific activities. The first zone will be Deira / Bur Dubai which will be the City’s Historical Essence. The rich heritage culture of Dubai, its old souqs and museums will be the priority of this zone. While the residents will enjoy excellent connectivity through metro lines, buses, abra, ferry and other public transportation the zone will be an important one for the tourist who would like to explore how Dubai has evolve from an ancient trading hub.
The second Urban Centre of the Urban Master plan will be Downtown Dubai and Business Bay, this zone is already serving as an international business hub for economic, financial and business activities and with DIFC drawing attention globally, this zone is certainly scheduled to become the business backbone of Dubai.
The third urban center of the master plan is Dubai Marina and JBR, being a global tourist destination, this zone will serve the tourism and entertainment sector of Dubai. Already home to renowned leisure and hospitality brands, the expansion of this zone with an international cruise terminal, and world class tourist activities, there will be a lot for the tourists to explore in this zone.
The fourth Urban Centre is the Expo 2020 that serves as the International Gateway for Exhibitions and Events. Working as the new engine for economic growth, Expo 2020 has already proven to be a catalyst towards Dubai’s economy, and moving forward the destination will host international exhibitions, conferences and seminars with an integrated logistics services and a brand-new airport that connects Dubai to the world.
The fifth urban center of the 2040 master plan will be Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academy City, where the zone will serve as the knowledge and innovation center. Here, Dubai plans to attract the top talents from the world in world class schools and universities and at the same time plans to nurture the youth of the region to contribute towards global growth and evolve future leaders.
Dubai’s current population is about 5.8 million which is forecasted to be increased to 7.8 million by 2040, and with master plans that encourage integrated infrastructure, sustainable environment, superior quality of life and world class education and healthcare, the platform has already been laid upon for Dubai to become the best city in the world to live and invest.
