Broker card validation services are available through the Dubai REST App provided by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA). The immense size of the Dubai real estate industry is evident via statistics: 7,022 brokers working across 600+ brokerages in the city.
Not only do these numbers go on to show the strength of the industry and faith placed by millions of global investors in the city, it also highlights the high degree of transparency and regulation that are imposed by RERA. These measures ensure a smooth flow of transactions whilst enabling maintenance of a centralized database that is accessible publicly.
To further ensure that the broker you are dealing with is complying with and is facially registered with the regulatory authority, there are features in the Dubai REST app which can authenticate the validity of the broker’s RERA license. All you need to do is ask the broker ID i.e. the broker registration number (BRN) from the consultant assisting you. That number can be verified in the “Validate E-card Service” section in the Dubai REST app.
In addition to the validation of the broker card, the service also displays the category under which the brokers belong, which are: good, silver, bronze, and none. Using select criteria such as performance, RERA group brokerage and brokers are easily categorized to highlight those who are performing the best, both historically and currently.
Similar to the broker card validation, the developer card property management, trustee services, and valuer card can also be validated through the validation service, thus ensuring transparency and integrity within the industry. Some property portals in Dubai have also started ranking and rating brokers using the experiences of clients who have previously dealt with said brokers. Although these ranking are not governed by RERA, they do give out a fair idea about the level of service you can expect from said brokers.
